Zener diodes are a handy little companion for all sorts of jobs. They are rated with a fixed breakdown (avalanche) voltage above which, unlike normal diodes, they'll allow reverse current flow.

But how could that be useful I hear you ask?

  • Protecting micro-controller pins from excess voltage
  • Providing a reference voltage
  • Clamping signal voltages

We stock both 3V3 and 5V Zener diodes as these are the voltages most Raspberry Pi and Arduino projects will run at.

  • Power: 1.3W
  • Tolerance: ±5%
