Using a TV remote control as a computer mouse
Vinu from India has created an interesting alternative to using a bluetooth or other wireless mouse, by using an ATmega8 as a base for an infrared to USB interface. It receives signals from a TV infrared remote control and converts them into mouse actions using the virtual-USB library that is available for AVR micontrontrollers. Here is a short demonstration of the project in action:
Once again this type of project shows what is possible with some simple hardware and programming skills. For more information, schematics and source code, visit Vinu's project page here. And for more news, updates and items of interest.please follow us on twitter, Facebook and Google+.
